Monkey is turning into a bit of a bully. Biting tails, fingers, scratching. Being the biggest she is using it. The other kittens cant even poop without their tails being bitten. I had to pull her off Mister Mister earlier cause he was crying out.
She has also decided that she is too important to sleep in the tub, she is now sleeping on a towel on the vanity. Its so funny.
DD was a bit worried earlier, she had Fluffy on her bed, and letting her run around on it instead of holding her, and lets just say, there was a smelly mess, sheets now in the wash and one bathed baby, and Fluffy wasn't impressed with a 2nd bath in 2 days. Oh the joys of parenthood. DD is learning about parenthood though.
DS is totally in love with Tiger, and had him in his room for hours this evening. Very cute to see a 17 year old besotted with something so tiny. I told him he costs $275 and his response was "Damn!" Lol.
Night all.

Kittens are a distraction, but a good distraction
21 Dec 2011
Its day 2. The sun is barely up, and I'm woken to the sounds of kittens crying just before 6am. Considering they have slept through the night, I dont mind so much. I did try to go back to sleep, but they weren't having any of that!
Thank goodness we had shut the bathroom door last night, we found 2 kittens snuggled on the bathroom vanity, one on the edge of the bath and one on the floor. The only baby still in the bath was tiny little Fluffy. All of them crying for attention. Oh and a present next to the toilet, 2 actually.
So I gave them each a cuddle until dd came in and then Monkey settled in my arms and started her engines. Her purr is soo loud and strong. Then Blue had a purr too, its lovely to hear their purring competing.
Half an hour later they are all asleep again. But when one would wake up they were brought out for cuddles and a play. They are getting very playful.
Unfortunately I was so distracted by them, on my way out the door to go to work I forgot to take my mobile phone and a little gift from the babies (double bagged) that had to go back to the RSPCA today to be analysed by the vets. So after work I had to drive home, have kitten cuddles (what a trial), and head out the the RSPCA again, and go finish the christmas shopping that didn't get done yet. And I forgot dd's list. Sigh. I had memorised some of it thank goodness.
I came home to dd on the floor in the bathroom with most of the kittens playing on the floor around her. They are so funny to watch while they play.
I was out of the house again after dh came home from work, and about 5 minutes after I left, he said that it looked like Tiger was having a fit. He had been playing with his collar (plastic collars put on by the RSPCA so they know who is who) and he got it caught in his jaw. Poor little man. So dh saved him and cut the collar off. I had already been told we could as long as we knew who was who. Lets just say that after that scare, all the collars came off.
They are all happy again.
This eveing I downloaded a game on the iPad for them, and Fluffy is very good at it. Its also hilarious to watch. I will take a video of it, for everyone's viewing pleasure.
These little guys are all so gorgeous, and remember they will be up for adoption soon. If you know someone looking for a pet, the RSPCA ACT has a lot of kittens at the moment, all waiting for a loving home.

We have become foster parents
20/12/11
We have been waiting for what feels like forever, but today we had a call from the RSPCA asking us to come and collect a litter of kittens to foster. Our first litter.
I picked up our litter of foster kittens today. 5 5 week old babies. They are all sooo gorgeous but boy did they stink! I had to drive home with the air conditioner on and the window open with 5 babies trying to escape their carrier.
This was going to be a great surprise for the family.
First things first, setting up th spa as their new home, feeding, watering oh and 5 baths.
Actually they were very good about the baths. Afterwards we let them dry off and nap in a warm bathroom.
It wasn't long until it was time for cuddle and an attempt at names.
Fluffy is the smallest, weighing in at 460 grams. She is gorgeous with a black and white body. She is very cuddly, loving being held.
She has a brother with similar markings, he hasn't got a name yet, just a nickname Mister Mister. He weighed in at 700 grams. He is also a bundle of cuteness, but aren't they all?
Tiger, another boy has been named by DH for his markings. He weighed in at 810 grams.
Monkey a girl, loves climbing and sitting on shoulders. She isn't quite used to people yet. She weighed in at 850 grams.
Then there is Blue. She is grey, ginger and white. She weighed in at 660 grams. A beautiful mixture of colour, and a very sweet temperament, named for her colouring she is very lovable.
They nap a lot, I guess getting dropped off at the RSPCA, checked over by vets and then going to a new home is exhausting.
Remember, these 5 babies will be up for adoption in a few weeks. If you fall in love with them through my stoires, please consider adopting one or more of them from the ACT RSPCA. You wont regret it.
