Kittens are a distraction, but a good distraction

21 Dec 2011

Its day 2. The sun is barely up, and I'm woken to the sounds of kittens crying just before 6am. Considering they have slept through the night, I dont mind so much. I did try to go back to sleep, but they weren't having any of that!

Thank goodness we had shut the bathroom door last night, we found 2 kittens snuggled on the bathroom vanity, one on the edge of the bath and one on the floor. The only baby still in the bath was tiny little Fluffy. All of them crying for attention. Oh and a present next to the toilet, 2 actually.

So I gave them each a cuddle until dd came in and then Monkey settled in my arms and started her engines. Her purr is soo loud and strong. Then Blue had a purr too, its lovely to hear their purring competing.

Half an hour later they are all asleep again. But when one would wake up they were brought out for cuddles and a play. They are getting very playful.

Unfortunately I was so distracted by them, on my way out the door to go to work I forgot to take my mobile phone and a little gift from the babies (double bagged) that had to go back to the RSPCA today to be analysed by the vets. So after work I had to drive home, have kitten cuddles (what a trial), and head out the the RSPCA again, and go finish the christmas shopping that didn't get done yet.  And I forgot dd's list. Sigh. I had memorised some of it thank goodness.

I came home to dd on the floor in the bathroom with most of the kittens playing on the floor around her. They are so funny to watch while they play.

I was out of the house again after dh came home from work, and about 5 minutes after I left, he said that it looked like Tiger was having a fit. He had been playing with his collar (plastic collars put on by the RSPCA so they know who is who) and he got it caught in his jaw. Poor little man. So dh saved him and cut the collar off. I had already been told we could as long as we knew who was who. Lets just say that after that scare, all the collars came off.

They are all happy again.

This eveing I downloaded a game on the iPad for them, and Fluffy is very good at it. Its also hilarious to watch. I will take a video of it, for everyone's viewing pleasure.

These little guys are all so gorgeous, and remember they will be up for adoption soon. If you know someone looking for a pet, the RSPCA ACT has a lot of kittens at the moment, all waiting for a loving home.
